End of life for development libraries are a good way of moving into faster secure and better feature supported code, this pushes web applications to be on supported versions rather than outdated systems and left behind.

PHP 7.1 has now reached the end of life and all of our clients have moved on to newer versions as part of our maintenance and maintenance & support contracts. Acquia is ending support for PHP 7.1 in favor of PHP 7.2 on Tuesday, 1 October 2019, this has been planned as part of the end of life program for a while and consequently, there have been many Drupal projects that have been upgraded to PHP7.2 ready for this move.

If you have been left behind and are not sure of the security status of your project you can have a security audit to give peace of mind to your project or if you don't want to worry about security or your sites why not look at our maintenance & support security update plans.
