A new release for WordPress 5 is out now  with new improvements and some big changes, WordPress 5.0 is a major release which have to manually initiate the update, if you are one of our clients then we will be contacting you to push for this update to this major version. The new release has some great new features.

Gutenberg

This is the new edition that replaces the old content editor with built-in support for adding blocks for commonly used elements, the editor replaces the old editor which was used to give lists text and font styles. With Gutenberg editor, this will make it easier to add content embedding.

Twenty Nineteen

The default theme which comes out fo the box will now be Twenty Nineteen, it is a minimalist theme which is a fine starter theme before adding code to style to a client's needs, however, we also have our own themes we use as a scaffolding for client sites so you may not see this as enabled in your site options. It does, however, offer a new clean canvas with minimal distractions and works with Gutenberg out of the box.

This new WordPress release is a big change to how users create content and has been under development a while. This provided plugin and theme developers time to release and test their plugins and themes to make sure it's compatible with Gutenberg in WordPress 5.0.
